I am excited to share that Stroller Strides and Fit 4 Baby are two of Philadelphia’s newest Fitness Programs for helping moms to look and feel their best. Owner and Instructor, Carolyn Kaufman began Stroller Strides 6 months ago in the months after having her first daughter as a way to help women look and feel their best. Carolyn considers Stroller Strides “to be a turning point in her life” and has the goal of helping to educate and motivate postpartum moms about the importance of exercise after birth. The advantage to Stroller Strides is that it is a cardio based workout that moms can do with their babies – no paying for a sitter and getting to meet other nearby moms! It’s available at multiple locations in Center City and has both weekend and weekday times.

Fit 4 Baby is a spin off of Stroller Strides and is geared toward the soon-to-be mommy. There are many prenatal yoga options in the city which are fantastic, but Fit 4 Baby offers a cardio-based cross training approach in a group setting. I was able to try out my first class at the Grand Opening last Tuesday and I was impressed that while it was accommodating to beginners and varying abilities, it provided a serious workout! You really can get as much or as little as is appropriate for your changing pregnant body. And the best part…you can chat with the other moms in the class during your workout. This offers an added benefit of getting to know other women in similar stages of pregnancy, helping to diminish the isolation that can begin during pregnancy and continue after childbirth.

The first class is free! For more information or to register for these classes go to http://classes.strollerstrides.net/philadelphia/location/index.aspx or email Carolyn at Carolyn@strollerstrides.net
